Cannes Film Market to offer Iran 'Kejal'

The Cannes Film Market in France has set to offer Iranian movie 'Kejal'.

The film directed by Nima Yar and produced by Javad Norouz-Beigi will be screened at the French market in May 2018.

'Kejal' portrays a young female porter living in the border regions in the Iranian province of Kurdistan.

As her family struggles with financial problems, she decides to take a masculine job.

She goes across the border and brings heavy contraband goods on her back for sale. The film is made on true events.

The film cast includes Mayam Bobani, Nastaran Mohammadi and Samira Zokaee who portrays the porter girl.

The Cannes Film Market is the business arm of the prestigious respective festival and one of the largest film markets in the world.

Established in 1959, it is held annually in conjunction with the festival in Cannes, France.

This edition of the French film market is slated for May 8-17, 2018.
